Revolver X2 Tonneau Cover | Hard Rolling Truck Bed Cover

★★★★★4.8· thousands of reviews

The Revolver X2 tonneau cover delivers hard-panel security in a roll-up design that opens and closes in seconds. We built this cover with interlocking aluminum slats that lock at any position along your truck bed, so you control cargo access without removing the entire cover.

Every X2 ships with our automatic rotary latch system — no clamps, no rails to drill. The canister housing sits flush with your bed rails, maintaining full stake-pocket access and a low-profile look. Whether you're hauling tools Monday through Friday or loading gear for the weekend, the X2 rolls forward to give you the bed space you need, then secures flat when you're done.

Aluminum construction and slat design

Each slat on the revolver x2 tonneau cover is stamped from marine-grade aluminum and finished with a powder coat that resists scratches, UV fade, and road salt. The interlocking design means every panel reinforces the next — you get rigid protection across the entire bed without the sag common in vinyl or fabric covers.

We hinge the slats with commercial-grade nylon bushings that won’t bind in freezing temperatures or seize up after years of sun exposure. The canister itself is welded aluminum, not plastic, so it holds its shape under highway wind and won’t crack if you back into a low garage beam. When the cover is rolled forward, the slats nest inside the canister without stacking unevenly or jamming.

How the automatic latch system works

Tool-free rail mounting

The X2 clamps onto your bed rails with rotary latches — turn the knob a quarter rotation and the cover locks down. No drilling, no adhesive strips, no C-clamps that loosen over time. The latch housings sit directly on the rail, so you keep full use of your stake pockets for tie-downs or toolbox mounts.

Slam latches at the tailgate

When you roll the cover closed, integrated slam latches engage automatically as the rear slat meets the tailgate seal. Push down once and both latches click into place. To open, pull the release cable from either side of the bed — you don’t need to walk around to the passenger side if you parked tight against a wall.

Styling

Compatibility and bed clearance

The revolver x2 tonneau cover works with most spray-in bedliners, drop-in liners, and bed mats as long as the liner doesn’t extend above the top of the bed rail. If your liner has a rolled edge or over-the-rail lip, you’ll need to trim it flush or choose a different cover design.

We manufacture the X2 in lengths to fit 5.5-foot, 6.5-foot, and 8-foot beds across Ford, Chevy, GMC, Ram, Toyota, and Nissan trucks. The canister housing adds about 11 inches to the front of your bed when the cover is fully rolled open, leaving you with clear access to the remaining bed length. Stake pockets stay open because the rails mount on top of the bed rail without blocking the pocket cavity. The same modular rail system used across other covers in the X2 series ensures you can swap accessories without re-drilling if you upgrade trucks down the line.

Installed it myself in 15 minutes
I was skeptical about the no-drill claim, but the rotary latches really do lock down tight without any tools. I've had it on my F-150 for eight months through a Chicago winter and haven't seen any rust or fading. Opens smooth every time.

Finally a cover that doesn't sag
My last cover was soft vinyl and it sagged so bad in the middle I couldn't see out my back window. The X2 stays flat even at highway speeds. I like that I can lock it halfway open when I'm hauling longer items.

Great for daily use, not waterproof
This cover is perfect for keeping my tools dry during normal weather, but heavy rain will get some water in around the edges. I keep a tarp in the bed just in case. The locking feature works great and I love how fast it opens.

Looks factory on my Silverado
The matte black finish matches my bed rails perfectly. I was worried the canister would look bulky, but it sits low enough that you barely notice it. Installation was easier than mounting my bedliner.

No more clamps falling off
I've owned three tonneau covers and they all used clamps that would loosen up after a few months. The X2 latches are built into the rails and they haven't budged since I installed it. Super solid design.

Best cover for the money
I compared this to retractable covers that cost twice as much. The X2 does everything I need — locks my gear, opens fast, and doesn't rattle. I'd buy it again in a heartbeat.

Good to know

Common questions about the X2

Yes. The cover rolls forward toward the cab independently of the tailgate position. You can access the front portion of your bed without dropping the tailgate, which is useful when you're parked in tight spaces or need to grab something quickly.

The slam latches at the rear automatically disengage when you pull the release cable, so the cover unrolls smoothly even with the tailgate up.

The X2 is compatible with most spray-in bedliners as long as the liner sits flush with or below the top edge of the bed rail. If your liner has a rolled edge or over-the-rail flange, you'll need to trim it back to the rail height before installing the cover.

Liners that extend above the rail prevent the clamp system from seating properly and can cause the cover to sit at an angle. Measure your rail height before ordering if you're unsure about your liner.

The aluminum slats shed light snow without issue, and the powder-coat finish prevents ice from bonding to the surface the way it does on bare metal. Heavy snow will add weight to the cover, but the slat design distributes the load across the entire bed rail system.

If ice forms in the canister, let it thaw before trying to roll the cover open — forcing frozen slats can damage the nylon bushings. We've tested the X2 in sub-zero temperatures and the mechanism still operates smoothly as long as moisture hasn't frozen inside the canister housing.

The X2 requires a clear bed rail from the bulkhead to the tailgate. You can't run it alongside a crossover toolbox or bed extender that sits on top of the rails. If your toolbox mounts inside the bed or bolts to the floor, the cover will fit as long as the canister has clearance when rolled forward.

Some owners remove their toolbox and install the X2, then use the covered bed for secure storage instead. Stake-pocket toolboxes and tie-down racks work fine because they mount below the rail level.

Wash the X2 with car soap and a soft brush or microfiber cloth. Avoid pressure washers aimed directly at the seals — high pressure can force water past the gaskets and into your bed. Rinse with a garden hose and let the cover air-dry.

We recommend applying a silicone-based protectant to the rubber seals twice a year to keep them pliable. The aluminum slats don't need waxing, but you can apply a spray wax if you want extra shine. Check the rotary latches every few months and tighten them if the cover shifts during driving.

The X2 comes with a five-year warranty on the aluminum structure, canister housing, and latch mechanisms. We cover defects in materials and workmanship, including cracked slats, bent rails, and failed latches that result from normal use.

The warranty doesn't cover damage from accidents, improper installation, or modifications. Seals and bushings are wear items with a two-year coverage period. If a component fails, we'll ship a replacement part and include installation instructions.

Yes. The slam latches engage at any point along the bed rail, so you can lock the cover halfway open to haul longer cargo while keeping the rear portion of your bed secure. Pull the cover to the position you want, then push down on the rear edge until the latches click.

This feature is useful when you're carrying lumber, kayaks, or other items that extend past the tailgate. The cover stays locked in place until you pull the release cable.
