Revolver X4 Tonneau Cover | Hard Rolling Truck Bed Cover
The Revolver X4 is a hard rolling truck bed cover engineered for daily-driver trucks and commercial fleets alike. We built it with welded aluminum slats that lock into place when closed, giving you security without the bulk of a one-piece folding lid.
Unlike soft roll-ups that sag or flap at highway speed, the X4 stays flat and tight thanks to its rigid slat design and integrated tension system. You get instant bed access by rolling the cover forward, and it sits just 1.5 inches above the bed rails when closed—low enough to preserve your truck's sight lines and fuel economy.
Every X4 ships with a patented rotisserie-style rail system that clamps directly to your truck bed without drilling. Installation takes about 20 minutes with basic hand tools, and the cover works with most spray-in bedliners and stake pockets.
What makes the X4 different

Materials & Construction
We manufacture every Revolver X4 slat from extruded aluminum—the same alloy used in aerospace and marine applications. Each slat is welded at the hinge points rather than riveted, which eliminates the flex and rattling common in cheaper roll-up covers. The powder-coat finish is baked on at 400°F, creating a shell that resists road salt, UV degradation, and minor impacts from cargo or hail.
The rail system uses a rotisserie clamp design that distributes load across the full length of your bed rail. This means the cover stays secure even on washboard roads or when you’re hauling uneven loads. The clamps are machined from 6061-T6 aluminum and include nylon inserts to prevent marring your bed rails or bedliner. If you ever need to remove the cover, the clamps release with a 10mm socket—no cutting, no permanent hardware left behind.

How the Roll-Forward System Works
Most hard covers make you choose between full bed access and partial—either you fold sections forward or you’re stuck with a fixed opening. The X4 sidesteps that tradeoff. The slats roll forward on a continuous track, so you can stop the cover at any position along the bed. Need 18 inches to slide in lumber? Roll it a quarter of the way. Loading an ATV? Roll it all the way to the cab.
The system uses a spring-assisted cartridge inside each rail. When you release the tailgate latch and push the cover forward, the cartridge takes up tension automatically—no manual adjustment, no loose fabric bunching at the front. When you roll it back, the slats lock into place one by one as they pass the automatic latch at the tailgate. You’ll hear a soft click when each slat engages, confirming the bed is sealed.
Installation & Bed Compatibility
The X4 installs without drilling into your truck bed or cab. You’ll mount the side rails using the included clamps, then drop the slat cartridge into the rails and secure it with four hand-tightened bolts. We include a drill-free tailgate seal that adheres to the inside of your tailgate, creating a weather barrier without modifying the paint.
Our fit guide covers over 500 truck configurations from 1999 to current model years—F-150, Silverado, Ram, Tundra, Tacoma, Ranger, Colorado, and Gladiator among them. The cover works with most spray-in bedliners as long as the liner doesn’t cover the top edge of the bed rail. If you have a drop-in liner with a rail cap, you’ll need to remove the cap sections where the clamps mount. The X4 also clears factory tie-downs, stake pockets, and bed extenders. Models with a powered roll-up bedliner already installed need to remove those components to ensure proper rail clearance, as the X4 series requires unobstructed rail access for secure clamping.

Revolver X4 Buyer Questions
Yes, the X4 is rated for 300 pounds of evenly distributed weight when closed. Spread the load across at least three slats and use ratchet straps to secure it. The cover is not designed for dynamic loads like a roof rack—only static cargo like lumber, kayaks, or cargo boxes.
Avoid placing concentrated weight on a single slat or near the edges of the bed. The aluminum will flex under point loads and may bend if you exceed the rating.
The X4 is compatible with most bed extenders that mount to the bed rail or hitch receiver. If your extender clamps to the top of the bed rail, you may need to reposition it slightly to avoid the cover's side rails.
Tailgate steps that bolt through the tailgate work fine. Steps that attach to the inside of the tailgate may interfere with the adhesive weather seal. Check your step's clearance before ordering—the seal adds about a quarter inch of thickness to the tailgate's inner surface.
Loosen the four clamps on each side rail using a 10mm socket. The entire cover assembly lifts off in one piece—it weighs about 65 pounds depending on your bed length. Store it upright or flat in a garage or shed.
Reinstallation takes the same 15-20 minutes as the initial setup. The clamps will seat back into the same positions on your bed rails, so you won't need to realign anything.
The X4 is highly water resistant but not waterproof. The nested bulb seals and side-rail drainage channels keep rain and snow out during normal driving and parking. In a heavy downpour or pressure washer, you may see minor water intrusion near the tailgate gap.
For full waterproof protection, consider a one-piece hard lid with a perimeter gasket. The X4 prioritizes easy access and low-profile design over absolute sealing.
Yes, the X4 works with spray-in bedliners from LINE-X, Rhino Linings, and similar brands as long as the liner doesn't cover the top edge of the bed rail. The clamps need bare metal or a smooth liner surface to grip properly.
Drop-in bedliners with plastic rail caps require removing the cap sections where the clamps mount. You can reinstall the caps once the cover is in place, but they won't be secured in those spots.
The X4s has a matte black finish instead of the X4's gloss powder coat, and it includes a quick-release knob system that lets you remove the cover without tools. Both models use the same aluminum slat construction, automatic latch, and rotisserie rail design.
The X4s costs slightly more due to the tool-free removal hardware. If you plan to take the cover on and off frequently, the X4s saves you a few minutes each time.
Independent testing shows hard rolling covers like the X4 improve highway fuel economy by 5-10 percent compared to driving with an open bed. The low profile reduces drag by smoothing airflow over the cab and bed.
Your actual mileage gain depends on your truck's aerodynamics, driving speed, and payload. You'll see the biggest improvement on highway trips at 55-70 mph.
