Revolver X4 Bed Cover – Hard Aluminum Tonneau with Single-Hand Operation

★★★★★4.8· thousands of reviews

We built the Revolver bed cover to solve the real problem truck owners face every day—protecting cargo without sacrificing bed access. This hard rolling tonneau pairs powder-coated aluminum slats with a single-hand roll-up mechanism, giving you weatherproof security that opens in seconds. The X4 Series design sits flush with the truck bed rails for a low-profile look, while reinforced slats handle snow loads and highway speeds without warping.

Every Revolver cover installs without drilling. Our clamp-on rail system works with most factory bed liners and adapts to toolboxes when needed. Whether you're hauling equipment to the job site or weekend camping gear, the slat construction keeps everything dry and out of sight.

Aluminum Slat Construction & Finish
Product details

Aluminum Slat Construction & Finish

The Revolver X4 uses interlocking aluminum slats instead of vinyl or soft fabric. Each slat runs the full width of the bed, reinforced at hinge points to handle weight without sagging. We powder-coat every surface—top, bottom, and edges—so the finish holds up against salt, sun, and gravel roads.

Aluminum keeps the cover lightweight enough for one-hand rolling while maintaining rigidity. Snow and ice slide off the sloped surface instead of pooling. The slat design also prevents the ballooning you see with soft covers at highway speeds, keeping the profile tight against the bed rails.

Single-Hand Roll & Lock System
Sizing & fit

Single-Hand Roll & Lock System

Open the Revolver bed cover from either side of the truck—pull the release strap, and the slats roll forward on sealed ball-bearing rollers. No need to remove bungees, unfasten snaps, or reach across the bed. The cover stops and locks automatically at any point along the rails, so you can open a quarter of the bed for small loads or roll it completely forward for full access.

The canister housing at the cab end stores the rolled slats out of the way. Automatic latches engage at both side rails and the tailgate when closed, giving you three-point security without manual locking. If you haul taller cargo occasionally, the entire canister unbolts in minutes and reinstalls the same way.

Bed Compatibility & Installation

Clamp-On Rail System

We designed the X4 rail clamps to grip the bed without drilling into the truck. The clamps adjust for bed liners up to half an inch thick and work with most spray-in and drop-in styles. Installation takes one person about 20 minutes—position the rails, tighten the clamps, and attach the cover canister.

Toolbox & Accessory Fit

If you run an over-rail toolbox, the Revolver cover sits on top of the box rails instead of the bed rails. The slats roll forward to the toolbox, leaving the front section of the bed open. Bed caps and fifth-wheel rails typically require minor rail adjustments, but the clamp system adapts without permanent modifications. We include detailed fit instructions for the most common truck and accessory combinations in every kit.

Opens faster than my old soft cover ever did
I switched from a snap-on vinyl cover and the difference is night and day. The Revolver rolls open in about two seconds, locks wherever I stop it, and actually keeps rain out. Installation was easier than I expected—didn't need to drill anything.

Handles snow without sagging
We get heavy snow in Montana, and this cover hasn't warped or dented after two winters. The slats shed snow on their own, and the powder coat still looks new. Worth every dollar for the durability alone.

Great for daily use, minor gap at tailgate
I love how fast I can open this thing when I'm loading tools. The only issue is a tiny gap at the tailgate corner—doesn't let much water in, but I can see daylight. Still way better than my old roll-up tarp cover.

Works perfectly with my bed liner
I was worried the clamps wouldn't fit over my spray-in liner, but the adjustable system worked fine. No rubbing, no gaps. The cover sits flat and looks like it came with the truck from the factory.

One-hand operation is a game changer
I haul stuff in and out of my truck bed at least five times a day for work. Being able to pop this open with one hand while carrying a toolbox in the other saves me so much hassle. Best upgrade I've made to the truck.

Low profile looks clean on my F-150
I didn't want a bulky cover that stuck up high. The Revolver sits almost flush with the bed rails, and people don't even notice it's there until I roll it open. Finish matches my truck's paint perfectly.

Good to know

Common Questions About the Revolver X4

Yes. The clamp-on rail system adjusts to fit over most drop-in and spray-in bed liners up to half an inch thick. The clamps grip the bed rail without drilling, so the liner stays in place underneath. If you have an extra-thick or custom liner, measure the gap between the top of the bed rail and the liner surface—our rails accommodate up to 0.5 inches of clearance.

You can release and roll the cover from either the driver or passenger side. Each side has its own pull strap that disengages the automatic latches. Once released, the slats roll forward on the same track no matter which side you're standing on. This makes loading easier in tight parking spots or when one side of the truck is blocked.

Rinse the slats with water and use a mild soap or aluminum-safe cleaner for stubborn dirt. Avoid abrasive brushes or harsh chemicals that can scratch the powder coat. Wipe down the rubber seals with a damp cloth every few months to remove dust buildup. The rolling mechanism is sealed and doesn't require lubrication under normal use. If you drive in heavy salt or mud, rinse the rails and canister area more frequently to prevent debris from packing into the rollers.

The X4 slat frame handles distributed loads up to 300 pounds when stationary—enough for snow, light camping gear, or a kayak with proper padding. We don't recommend standing or walking on the cover, and you should avoid concentrating heavy weight on a single slat. Always distribute loads across multiple slats and secure items with straps to prevent shifting during transport.

Individual slats are replaceable. If a slat cracks or dents, you can order a replacement part and swap it out without removing the entire cover. The slats slide out of the hinge channels once you unroll the cover and disconnect the damaged section. Most single-slat repairs take under 30 minutes. Our 5-year warranty covers slat defects and corrosion, so we'll ship a replacement at no charge if the damage falls within warranty terms.

The cover works with most over-rail toolboxes. The rails mount on top of the toolbox rails instead of the bed rails, and the slats roll forward to the toolbox, leaving the front section of the bed open. For bed caps or fifth-wheel setups, you may need to adjust the rail position or trim the canister slightly. We include fit guides for common configurations, and our support team can walk you through measurements if you have a custom setup.

Most people complete installation in 20 to 30 minutes working alone. You'll need a socket wrench or adjustable wrench to tighten the clamp bolts—no drilling, cutting, or permanent modifications required. The kit includes all hardware and step-by-step instructions. The hardest part is aligning the rails parallel to the bed—take your time measuring the distance from the bulkhead on both sides, and the rest of the process is straightforward.
