The BAK X4TS delivers one-hand operation and full bed access with factory-integrated T-slot rails that accept most aftermarket rack systems without drilling. Four aluminum panels fold completely back, rest upright against your cab, and lock in any position for partial loads.

Every X4TS ships with extruded aluminum rails that feature factory T-slot channels running the full length of both bed sides. These channels accept the hardware foot from most Yakima, Thule, and Rhino-Rack crossbar systems without adapter kits or additional drilling.
The rails themselves sit flush with the bed cap when the cover is closed, so rack towers mount directly to the same surface whether panels are folded or latched. We chose this integrated approach because aftermarket clamp-on T-tracks often sit too high, forcing you to remove the entire rack before closing the cover. With the X4TS, you unlatch the panels, fold them back, drop your crossbars into the slots, and go.

Aluminum Core & Coating
Each panel starts with a marine-grade aluminum core, press-formed for rigidity and coated with a matte powder finish that resists scratches from cargo straps and weathering from road salt. The finish is applied electrostatically before curing at high temperature, bonding it to the aluminum so chips and flakes don’t develop after months of sun exposure.
Hinge Design
We use a grease-free nylon hinge pin at every fold point. Traditional steel hinges collect grit and squeak after a few hundred open/close cycles. Nylon pivots stay silent, shed dust, and require zero maintenance—no spray lubricant, no seasonal cleaning.
Weather Sealing & Drainage
The X4TS uses a triple-seal system: EPDM rubber gaskets run the perimeter of each panel, a bulb seal bridges the gap between panels when folded, and a front header seal mates with your cab when the cover is fully closed. Water that does reach the seal interface is channeled into the truck’s factory bed drain holes at each corner.
We tested the seal system in a drive-through car wash at highway speed and measured less than two tablespoons of water intrusion over three passes. That’s tight enough to protect electronics, camping gear, and power tools during heavy rain, though we still recommend tarping sensitive cargo in extreme downpours or extended submersion scenarios like river crossings.

Yes. The X4TS panels fold completely toward the cab, leaving the bed floor clear for fifth-wheel pucks, gooseneck balls, and most underbed hitch systems. You can latch the panels in the upright position while towing, then close them when the trailer is disconnected.
No. The integrated T-slot rails remain accessible whether the cover is open or closed. Most Yakima, Thule, and Rhino-Rack crossbar feet drop directly into the slots without removing panels. You only need to fold the panels back if your rack towers interfere with the closed position.
Each panel is rated for 75 pounds of evenly distributed static load when closed and latched, giving a total capacity of 300 pounds across all four panels. This is sufficient for light snow accumulation and roof-mounted cargo boxes, but we do not recommend standing or kneeling on the cover.
Yes. The cover features dual rotary slam latches near the tailgate that lock automatically when you close the panels. Both latches use the same key. For added security, you can also lock the tailgate, which prevents access to the cover's release handles from outside the bed.
