If you have aftermarket bed caps, stake pocket covers, or a non-standard liner with tall side rails, measure the clearance between your bed rail top and the inside bed wall. The X2 clamps need at least 1.5 inches of vertical rail surface to mount securely.
The X2 locks in any position along its travel using the midpoint rotary latch. You can roll it halfway open to access the tailgate area while keeping cargo near the cab covered and locked. The automatic tension system maintains a weathertight seal at any point — you don't need to manually tighten anything when you stop rolling.
For full bed access the cover rolls completely forward and stacks into a 12-inch canister behind the cab. The canister sits above the bed rails so it doesn't take up floor space or interfere with tall cargo.

Every BAK Revolver X2 includes our three-year warranty covering defects in materials and workmanship. The warranty covers the aluminum slats, roller mechanisms, side rails, latches, seals, and finish against manufacturing flaws. If a component fails due to a factory defect within three years of purchase, we'll repair or replace it at no charge.
The warranty does not cover damage from accidents, improper installation, modifications, or normal wear items like rubber seals after extended UV exposure. Finish fading or scratches from cargo are considered cosmetic wear and aren't covered. Keep your receipt and register the cover within 30 days of installation to activate warranty coverage.
Most truck owners install the X2 in 30 to 60 minutes using basic hand tools — no drilling required. The kit includes detailed instructions, all mounting hardware, and pre-assembled side rails. You'll clamp the rails to your bed sides, position the rolled cover, and secure the tension adjusters. A second person helps during the initial positioning but isn't strictly necessary.
The only adjustment you'll make is setting the front and rear tension so the cover rolls smoothly and seals evenly.
