BAK Revolver X4S Tonneau Cover – Hard Rolling Truck Bed Cover
The BAK Revolver X4S tonneau cover is our premium hard rolling bed cover engineered for daily drivers who haul gear, tools, and cargo in every weather condition. Impact-resistant aluminum slats lock into a powder-coated aluminum frame, giving you a sleek low-profile design that stands up to highway speeds, hail, and UV exposure.
We built the X4S for zero-drill installation—every component fastens to your truck's existing stake pockets and bed rails using our integrated clamp system. The cover rolls open and closed in seconds, and when you need full bed access, the entire canister lifts off with two pull handles. No keys, no tools, no waiting.
Weather sealing runs along every slat edge and perimeter rail, keeping rain, snow, and dust out of your cargo area while the automatic tension adjustment system maintains a tight seal mile after mile. Whether you're securing jobsite equipment or weekend adventure gear, the Revolver X4S delivers the security of a hard cover with the convenience of a soft roll-up.
Core specs & build details

Aluminum construction & weatherproof engineering
Every slat in the BAK Revolver X4S tonneau cover is stamped from lightweight aluminum alloy, then powder-coated for scratch and corrosion resistance. We chose aluminum over vinyl-coated fabric because it won’t crack in sub-zero temperatures, won’t fade under desert sun, and resists dents from hail and falling branches.
The slat design creates a flexible rolling surface that curves smoothly into the canister housing, while the rigid structure supports up to 300 pounds of evenly distributed snow load. Dual EPDM seals run the length of each slat edge, and a continuous perimeter bulb seal compresses against the bed rail when the cover locks closed. Water that does make it past the primary seal drains through integrated channels that route moisture toward the tailgate, keeping your cargo dry even during heavy rain.

Clamp-on installation without permanent modifications
We designed the X4S clamp system to work with your truck’s factory stake pockets and bed rails—no drilling, no adhesive, no holes. Each side rail mounts with four adjustable clamps that slide into position and tighten with a hex key.
Installation takes about 30 minutes with basic hand tools. The front canister housing bolts to the bulkhead rail using pre-drilled brackets, and the tension adjusters self-calibrate once the cover cycles through its first full roll. If you ever need to remove the cover for tall cargo, the canister lifts out with two quick-release pins—no need to unbolt the side rails. Reinstallation takes less than 60 seconds.
Rotary latch & tailgate integration
Dual-position locking
The Revolver X4S uses a rotary dial latch that locks at any point along the bed length. You can secure the cover fully closed, partially open for long items, or rolled halfway back to protect front-bed cargo while leaving the rear open for lumber or ladders.
The latch mechanism integrates with your truck’s existing tailgate lock—when the tailgate is locked, the tonneau cover cannot be opened. An internal release cable lets you open the cover from inside the bed when the tailgate is down, so you’re never locked out of your own cargo.

Common questions about the Revolver X4S
Yes, the X4S is designed to accommodate most spray-in and drop-in bed liners up to 0.5 inches thick. The adjustable clamp rails allow you to raise the mounting height to clear the liner without compromising the seal. We've confirmed fitment with LINE-X, Rhino Linings, and Penda liners across popular truck models.
The cover locks to your truck's tailgate lock system, so when the tailgate is locked, the tonneau cover remains secured. You can open the tailgate independently when the cover is unlocked. An internal release cable allows you to access the latch from inside the bed when the tailgate is down.
The aluminum slat design supports up to 300 pounds of evenly distributed static load, such as snow accumulation. We do not recommend walking on the cover or placing concentrated point loads, as this can bend individual slats. For transporting cargo on top of the cover, use a roof rack or bed-mounted rack system instead.
The front canister sits approximately 12 inches from the bulkhead and measures 8 inches in diameter. Most fifth-wheel and gooseneck hitch systems will require canister removal for towing. The quick-release design allows you to lift the entire canister assembly off in under a minute using the integrated pull handles.
We back the X4S with a three-year warranty covering defects in materials and workmanship. The warranty includes the aluminum slats, side rails, canister housing, latch mechanism, and seals. Normal wear items like EPDM seals are covered for the first year. The powder-coat finish is warranted against peeling or flaking for three years under normal use.
The X4S is designed for DIY installation with basic hand tools. The clamp-on mounting system requires no drilling or permanent modifications to your truck bed. Most customers complete installation in 30 to 45 minutes. The kit includes detailed instructions, and all necessary hardware is pre-packaged and labeled for each step.
Rinse the cover with clean water every few weeks to remove dirt, salt, and debris. The powder-coated aluminum does not require waxing. Wipe down the EPDM seals twice a year with a damp cloth and apply a silicone-based protectant to prevent cracking. Avoid using harsh solvents or abrasive brushes, as they can damage the finish and seals.
